I've been using a program called RootsMagic to keep track of all my research. It's the new standard in genealogy, and it's a shareable file. Please comment here or email me if you would like a copy of the the RootsMagic file, to which you could then add your own research!

The Millenniata company produces indestructible DVDs, designed to store information for 1,000 years. Literally. A normal DVD is subject to warping and damage, while these can withstand boiling water, liquid nitrogen, etc...the DVDs and DVD Rewriters are a little pricey, but worth looking into.
